Julio Iglesias Will Release NEW Single
“Fallaste Corazón” Tomorrow, July 10th
This Worldwide Release Unveils The First Song From The Global Music Legend’s Forthcoming New Album “MÉXICO - Julio Iglesias”
Marking Julio Iglesias’ First New Spanish Language Recordings in Twelve Years,
The Highly-Anticipated Collection Honoring Mexico’s Greatest Songwriters Will Have A Full Album Release On September 18, 2015
It’s
been 12 years since the iconic Julio Iglesias recorded an album in
Spanish, his native language. This Friday, July 10, Sony Music releases “Fallaste Corazón” (You Failed, Dear), the first single from his forthcoming album MÉXICO - Julio Iglesias.
Having recorded his first tribute album to Mexico in 1976, the
best-selling Latin music artist in history now once again pays homage to
a country whose support was instrumental in his rise to fame.
Julio Iglesias first
performed in Mexico during the early 1970s and quickly won over the
world’s largest Spanish-speaking country. Julio likewise fell in love
with the nation and has continually remained well-versed in Mexican
culture, history, music and customs.
While putting the finishing touches on MÉXICO - Julio Iglesias, he noted that “Mexico
is a country that I love dearly. The Mexican people have given me many
indelible moments in my life. I know this country as if it was my
homeland, and I always carry it in my soul.”
The full album, MEXICO - Julio Iglesias, is scheduled for release on September 18, 2015. In this album, Julio Iglesias renews
his ties to Mexico with material from its Golden Age songbook,
performed with his inimitable passion. An homage to Mexico’s greatest
songwriters, the album will include twelve songs with distinctive
Mexican flavor, Julio’s timeless interpretations and a 21st century
sound.
“Mexican music is universal, and its composers are legendary,” Julio Iglesias observes. The album will feature a moving dedication to these songwriters, written by the artist himself.
“This
record is dedicated to the outstanding composers who, generation after
generation, filled our lives with love, nostalgia, memories and moments.
After all these years, they remain alive in our souls. With all my
respect and profound admiration." – Julio Iglesias.
With
this album, Julio Iglesias’ discography surpasses 80 albums since 1968,
a sterling body of work. A total of 47 years of hits and record-setting
accomplishments – with over 300 million records sold – solidifying
Julio as the best-selling Latino artist in history, and one of the
Top-10 best-selling music artists of all-time.
MEXICO - Julio Iglesias
is a return to fundamentals for an artist who has sung in over 12
languages and won a multitude of accolades around the world. Now, Julio
Iglesias ends his long absence from recording, by again embracing his
beloved Mexico and its classic songwriters.
