Julio Iglesias wraps Spanish tour at Marbella's Starlite Festival

Singer Julio Iglesias gave the last concert on his Spanish tour at the Starlite Festival here in this resort city on the Costa del Sol.

The curtain went up at 10:15 p.m. Sunday on the artist singing "Amor, Amor," followed by "Natalie" and "La Gota Fria" (The Drop of Cold), before a packed audience some 3,000 strong, mainly older people from the Spanish-speaking world, the organization told Efe.

The world's most famous Spanish-speaking artist offered his fans in Marbella a repertoire of greatest hits from his 43-year career of singing in different languages, notably Spanish, English and French.

Iglesias asked the audience to put their "hands up" to sing "My Sweet Lord," and though they didn't sing along, they did clap to the rhythm of the music.

With "Me Va, Me Va" (I Like It, I Like It), he brought the audience to its feet and dancing down the aisles and into the orchestra pit, a space soon crowded with fans taking advantage of the chance to take photos of the artist with their iPhones and take pictures of themselves with the singer in the background.

Julio Iglesias has sold more than 300 million albums worldwide, has won a Grammy Award and an American Music Award, and has been honored with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. EFE
