Spanish singer Julio Iglesias had a two-hour performance on the “Ion Moina” Stadium in Cluj-Napoca, ended by a powerful duet with the Romanian Costel Busuioc. The two singers performed the “Caruso” in front of over 8,000 people.
The song “Caruso – Te voglio bene assai” was performed in Italian and followed by an enthusiastic gesture from behalf of Julio Iglesias, who kissed Costel Busuioc’s hand and afterwards kissed his cheeks.
The duet thus closed a performance of two hours that included no break.
“My country offered success and power to a young man. He has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard,” Iglesias said, referring to Busuioc.
Busuioc declared he was “genuinely honoured” to sing beside the great Spanish artist.
Julio iglesias performed 26 songs of the repertoire he completed throughout his 40-year career, both in Spanish and English. The band Distinto from Bucharest performed in the opening of the show. The artist was able to stir the genuine enthusiasm of the audience, as the viewers sang along with the musician the song “Manuela” and danced on other songs. It started raining at the end of the show, but no viewer left the Stadium.
